While It Chapter Two was kinda messy, because It (2017) had such an impact on me, I still felt so much love for the kids. A lot of films mess up childhood, but Andrés Muschietti captured it perfectly. The characters feel relatable and real, and those two factors contribute to the story feeling whole. Much of that connection is exhibited due to the amazing child actors! Their chemistry was unreal, it felt like a camera just happened to be following a friend group in the 80s. But two actors stood out the most. Sophia Lillis (Beverly) and Finn Wolfhard (Richie) were insanely amazing. Everyone I've talked to about the movie loved Richie Tozier. Of course, Bill Skarsgard knocked it out of the park, he was so amazing. I saw a clip on YouTube of him slipping in and out of character and it was so incredibly disturbing. I love movies and television with dark humor, (like Bojack Horseman and BARRY) so I especially loved It (2017). The 80s is known for having a childhood nostalgia with the Goonies and Stand By Me. This new adaptation felt exactly like those two movies, and it filled me up with childhood joy making me feel like a kid again. In the best way possible, it felt like the first season of Stranger Things with its nostalgia and close group of talented actors.

However, I didn't like It Chapter Two as much as It (2017). The first scene didn’t show why Pennywise is such a threat and the scares were mostly only jump scares with no horror feeling. While the adult versions of the Losers Club were good actors, I didn't feel emotionally connected to them. I really enjoyed when there were flashbacks of the kids because of how much I appreciated It (2017). The only adult actor who was stand out amazing was Bill Hader who played adult Richie Tozier. His lines came so naturally and I was already a major fan of his because of BARRY.

I cried once during It Chapter Two. The ending montage of the adult and child actors with Stan's Letter being read made me incredibly sentimental. It felt like my heart was being pumped with childhood nostalgia. Another stunning part of this movie is the music. The score for It Chapter Two is beautiful. I Swear, Bill and Nothing Lasts Forever are my two favorites.

It (2017) 5/5

It Chapter Two 3.5/5
