there are no words. no words to explain how much I enjoy this show. the characters, the plot, the seamless filler episodes that I enjoy just as much as the action episodes. my only complaint is that I want more seasons. you fall in love with the characters so easily and the world-building of Avatar: The Last Airbender is tangible and Studio Ghibli-esque. its magic system, the bending of the four elements, is easily explainable and it provides a world that the audience can relate to but also wants to be in. not to mention the gut-wrenching character arcs of everyone in the show, and we all know whose is the best. Zuko is just unexplainable. there are so many reasons why everyone who watches Avatar falls in love with the fire nation prince. his character arc is probably one of the best of the century. my favorite episodes are: The Crossroads of Destiny, The Tales of Ba Sing Se, Chapter Twenty-One: Sozin's Comet Part 4: Avatar Aang, The Ember Island Players, The Beach, The Blind Bandit, and The Seige of the North. in order of course.

all the characters have full arcs and they all changed for the better. Sokka discovers his strengths and leaves behind his misogynistic views, Katara keeps her motherly instincts to take care of the group and learns to become a talented waterbender master, Toph grows mentally, learning to let people in her life while somehow becoming even stronger at earthbending than she was before, Zuko learns from his uncle that he must find his own honor and destiny, and Aang sticks to his moral values as a monk while also defeating the Fire Lord to stop the hundred-year war. they all collectively discover that friendships can help you endure almost everything.

all of the journeys and mishaps help the group to become better people as they prepare to defeat the fire nation. the plot of Avatar: The Last Airbender is fairly simple: Avatar Aang needs to master all four elements before Sozin's Comet, to defeat Fire Lord Ozai and bring peace into the world again. he befriends Katara and Sokka, and they embark on a journey to help Aang. however, Aang is just a kid. he never wanted to be the Avatar, but he needs to overcome these difficulties and take responsibility because he can't change who he is.
needless to say, i love this show. it has a calming effect on me and makes me feel like a kid again. I'm so excited to rewatch it later in life because it will bring a wave of nostalgia from these times. its a truly unforgettable story that will be revisited in years and years to come. sorry, the writing seems less flowly and natural, my thoughts seem to be scattered all over the place. also... zutara forever.
1000000/10
[definitely in my top 5 favorite tv shows]
